Very exciting week for human spaceflight as we get photos back from Artemis II on the far side of the moon, and a productive week for us across comms, cad, and a conference. Finding the right way to communicate the translational research for mechanical counterpressure between medical and spacesuits has been tricky, but we got some great advice from some advisors, and feel like we have really dialed it in. I went to the Beyond the Cradle conference in Boston, which was very interesting and a great time. Had a really fantastic conversation with Bill O’Hara about mating surfaces and gaskets for the geodesic stations he’s working on, among many others. I also had a great conversation with Mike Massimino and Jasmin Moghbeli, who were both quite interested in our glove demos. Mike said that it had “more mobility than an EMU glove, by a lot”, which was really fantastic to hear. It’s one thing to know that to be true from papers and test footage, but really something else to hear it from someone who has worn the EMU to repair Hubble. On the home front, we made a lot of progress on the CAD for the vacuum manifold, and should have a printable model by end of next week.
