Fantastic week this week! Some highlights:

  • Ran the extension coupon test, so we now have an undersizing for slack coeff that we trust.

  • Found a fixed width seam painting solution, need to iterate on a bit, but this saves us a bunch of time. I thought we were going to need to make our own, so this is very welcome.

  • Finished the glue between scan and job start, and realized there’s a flow we want to change, so will be wrapping that up early next week. Overall, pretty much done with code for the next few weeks.

  • Job monitoring and dispatching software is done enough for now. We’ll likely add a few quality of life features that integrate with the scan tracking, but that should be pretty straightforward. We’re using it to run a few tests we wanted to have done. Will also be running the compression tests on the spit as soon as newlab’s SLS printer is back online.

  • Based on some of those tests, we’re feeling that it would be nice to have a way to have multiple bodies in the same simulation for tighter packing and cheaper printing. Not rate limiting, but will look into how hard that would be.

  • This weekend I’ll be compiling a list of all astronauts with experience in jet aircraft - it would be very helpful to have someone who has straddled the G suit and space suit worlds - and working on my cold outreach.
