We made enormous strides in refactoring the heart of our Chainmesh generation algorithm. I wrote it over the course of several years by building on it in-place while continuing to add complexity at all stages, and it was desperately in need of a general refactor. Being the one who wrote it all, it still took me about 20 hours to break it all down into a structure that was digestible, and much longer to actually re architect and re implement the algorithm. This is a priority on three faces: Patenting, IRB approval, and future development. An added bonus is that we were able to expose some of the unintentional behavior (non-breaking) and, with an easier view on the algorithm, fix that behavior. Additionally, we started working with a fantastic patent group in order to file our non-provisional with a fast turnaround (with all the FDA logistics and work with the hospital, it really snuck up on us!), and our non-provisional for Zoa. We also opened conversations with the NIH on a potential grant for the upcoming study, or more likely, follow-on studies for other conditions treated through compression stockings.
