We had a very busy week this week! Hopefully we will be able to get some much deserved real downtime a few weeks from now. Until then, to borrow from Maya Angelou, nothing will work unless we do. We finished our SBIR submission writing, and have asked a connection at the NIH for a quick round of feedback. We also made the first zippered prototype for a Chainmesh compression stocking, which worked incredibly well. Because the software version that this garment was printed on still has the known compression under sizing bug, it required a bit of manual tweaks to get the tension right, but that can be solved pretty trivially moving forward. I wore that garment to a great meeting at another hospital, which seems to be much more open to research. By my estimate I was experiencing somewhere around 30mmHg of compression throughout the meeting, and could easily don and doff it with the zipper. We had a great dialog with the residents and attendings, looking forward to more. Our patent got its final round of review, so that will be submitted as soon as possible. We also started an exec search for a chief medical officer - let me know if there’s anyone I should meet.
