This week pushed a lot of different fronts forward, but in a way that still felt pretty focused.

  • We worked on design for the glovebox vaccum chamber we’re building, to allow us to get some low-pressure tests running, which I’m very excited about.

  • We completed work on how metrics are reported back to HPC’s in an easy-to-interpret manner (Really felt like I was channeling Tufte’s “Visual Display of Quantitative Information” on this), and started getting all that code set up to run on AWS Lambda, which is a bit of a pain, but saves us from a lot of other harder to solve problems down the road

  • Met with a former senior RAF pilot, and learned a lot about the pilot experience of G suits, which doesn’t usually get talked about publicly, and was very glad to hear how interested he was in helping us solve this problem. I think this will be further down the road (wind isn’t really behind us on this one, there’s a big push toward Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCAs) - autonomous jets that to the risky / high G stuff), but hearing firsthand about the drawbacks of modern G suit solutions was very helpful.

  • Had a great meeting with the Waypaver Foundation, talking about how to build support for international space settlement efforts, and a great meeting with a new SLS printing company.

  • Fixed a bug in Chainmesh closure generation geometry, and with Newlab’s SLS printer back online, we should be printing next week.
