Very exciting week! We got back a well-fitting glove, which required setting the undersizing to 0 (which I think means there’s more to understand from a materials perspective than we currently do), but it fits really well. We were excited to test it out in our vacuum chamber glovebox, and tested out our bladder-based sealing system, but found that it wouldn’t let us get past ~20% of hard vacuum (~11 psia). We then decided to cast a custom sized wrist gasket from silicone, and after figuring out the whole process and running a few tests, we found out that the silicone had expired seven years ago and stayed on the Blick shelves. We bought the materials to make a new one, and will be able to re-run the casting (and subsequent vacuum testing) on Monday. On the software side, we took care of a few backburner tasks to get Tapestry to prod-ready, and found a better way to ensure slices are clean through the heel region. We also continued to work on the better packing solution - I’m not thrilled about where it is right now (it structurally optimizes for the wrong thing) but I think I know how to fix that in the next version.
