Phenomenal week! I got a bit sick after visiting family in SF over the weekend, but we were able to isolate that we had a faulty gauge last week, and we did in fact pass the Armstrong limit. We definitely hit 2.5 psia last week, then blew past it and likely got in the ballpark of 0.5 psia, but it’s hard to be sure. With the better fittings and better gauge, we were able to pump down to 0.048psi, equivalent to 99.67% (ha) percent of hard vacuum, or an equivalent altitude of about 25 miles. Still short of the Karman Line, but I think we’ll need a turbo-molecular pump or something for that. Certainly good enough as a proof of MCP through skin tight chainmail. The patterns left on my skin after being at such a low pressure are quite interesting. We started working on what a deck would look like for sometime in the future, and with this now in the bag, I think it’s time to go get some medical customers. Importantly, we also decided that we would be rebranding as Starsuit, hopefully so people don’t get as confused about the name ‘opensuit’ anymore.
