We submitted our Chainmesh SBIR application! This took a huge amount of work, and nearly all of the credit belongs to Kiki. We continued working on the cleaner and validator, and made a substantial simplification by realizing that providers would need to set the height of the stocking in a robust way, and we could use this fact to go from a combined de-noising -> segmentation/identification step to effectively just a segmentation/identification step. Additionally, we started thinking about other explorations we want to do for near-term terrestrial applications. This might involve metal plating the prints for a more premium feel in fashion and high end desk toys. I’ve enjoyed playing with the 12cm diameter spheres the most, but if you’d potentially be a buyer, let me know what shape you would want, and what kind of metal you’d be interested in. Options seem to be Copper, Zinc, Rhodium, Silver, Gold, and possibly soft Chrome.
