This was a busy week! A lot of movement that is taking us in the right direction, but also felt a bit like a two-steps-forward-one-step-back situation. Highlights:
-
We worked extensively on a refactor for Tapestry, allowing for all of the separate complexity of processing and cleaning meshes, analyzing meshes, and producing useful and data rich visualizations, then sending all that info (and any failure information) securely back to the appropriate parties. The current system was working-ish, but was hard to debug, and was clunky to extend when we wanted to make visualizations better. As I write this, it’s wrapping up, maybe ~4 hours to go.
-
On the visualizations themselves, I got to put on my design-hat for a few hours and make something that communicates a new type of biometric in an intuitive-at-a-glance way, which was great.
-
Did a lot of outreach on the G suit side (many people who manage or fly ex-military jet aircraft), some on the venture side, and some on the manufacturing side. SLM printing interlocking parts was something that I thought was more or less untested, but turns out there’s a group that basically specializes in this! Reached out to them.
-
Looked into a light rebrand but haven’t settled on anything yet.
-
Reconnected with an old friend who has done an incredibly extensive amount of spacesuit development, who I’d like to work with much more in the future.
