Starsuit mechanical counterpressure glove

The next generation of spacesuits

Skin-tight, highly mobile, and 3D-printed from a new kind of fabric

How it works:

Unlike traditional bladder suits that contain pressurized air, Starsuit uses anatomy-aware printed lattice structures to apply mechanical counterpressure (MCP) directly to vacuum-exposed skin. Our suits fit any body, and provide better dexterity than any other spacesuit glove, ever. (video)

How it's made:

Our manufacturing process begins with high-resolution 3D scanning to capture precise anatomical data. This digital model drives our lattice generation algorithms, which optimize chainmail patterns for both medical and spacesuit counterpressure requirements.

  • Surface-following chainmail architecture
  • Custom lattice geometries for targeted pressure application
  • Medical-grade biocompatible materials
  • 3D-printed to individual astronaut specifications
